The Peruvian team, composed by Jose Gomez de la Torre, Blanca Kometter and the siblings, Ada and Rodrigo Bravo received the official uniform for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. They are ready for this demanding event which includes swimming, cycling and running.
Peruvians athletes in women’s and men’s categories, will compete against more than 70 athletes of the region. In this discipline, MVPs are Crisanto Grajales from Mexico and Barbara Riveros from Chile, both won the gold at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
Singles category will take place on Saturday, July 27 and two days after that, the relay event will be held on Monday, July 29. The swimming competition will be about 1.5 kilometers at Agua Dulce beach, Chorrillos. It consists of two laps of 350 meters of offshore swimming, 50 meters parallel to the coast, and 350 meters to return.
The cycling competition (40 kilometers) will consist of six laps in the circuit starting in the aforementioned beach, through the Huaylas exit, along the Grau boardwalk where it will take a counterclockwise U-turn to Los Pavos beach. The running event (10 kilometers) consists of four laps in the circuit located between Pescadores Beach and the Lima Marina Club.
Siblings Ada (22) and Rodrigo Bravo (19), qualified in the national championship, expressed their happiness and assured that they are ready for this competition and will give their best to proudly represent Peru.
Blanca Kometter (28) who qualified in Salinas CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon American Cup, Ecuador, invited everybody to join the competition on July 27 and July 29, as fans support is key for athletes morale and greatly helps them in their path to win the gold for Peru.
Triathlon will be one of Lima 2019 free events.
Restricted Routes and Vehicle Access
The Pan American and Parapan American Games Organization, together with the authorities of the districts of Chorrillos and Barranco, have developed a route plan that will allow athletes to achieve their best performance.
Such actions will close accesses from July 26 at 22:00 to July 27 at 18:00, and from July 28 at 21:00 to July 29 at 15:00, when the relay event will take place.
