This weekend, general trainings of the Lima 2019 Volunteer Program will be held simultaneously in Trujillo and Pisco for people who entered the training and selection process of the 19,000 volunteers for the Pan American and Parapan American Games.
Trainings will also continue in the city of Lima, where they have been carried out since October 27.
So far, this training program has taken place in Lima, Cusco, Arequipa, Chiclayo, Tarapoto, Cañete and Huancayo. It is developed together with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), which provides training sessions, as support of the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
Training is one of the most important benefits of the Lima 2019 Volunteer Program, and the objective is to provide participants with the necessary tools to strengthen their skills and knowledge, so they successfully fulfill their role in the Games and contribute to create a social legacy.
Training in Trujillo and Pisco
For the next few days, training sessions are scheduled to take place in Trujillo and Pisco. The district of Paracas, will host the sailing competition in the Pan American Games. Simultaneously, the program will be carried out at Los Olivos and Villa El Salvador, in Lima.
In Trujillo, training will take place at César Vallejo University (located at Av. Larco 1770, Víctor Larco Herrera, Trujillo – La Libertad). It will be held on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16, in two shifts: from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00.
In the province of Pisco, trainings will take place at “José de San Martín” school (located in José Balta 769, Pisco Playa, Pisco - Ica), on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00.
Los Olivos and Villa El Salvador
Meanwhile, in Lima, the training program will be held in two locations: Lima Norte and Lima Sur. On December 15, trainings will take place at César Vallejo University in Los Olivos (Av. Alfredo Mendiola 6232, Panamericana Norte), in two shifts: 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00.
On December 16, trainings will take place at the Autonomous University of Peru in Villa El Salvador (Panamericana Sur Km 16.3), in two shifts: 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00.
Participants will be able to enter the premises one hour earlier for control and attendance check. They will have to show their ID, and minors will need to show the authorization document signed by their parents or legal guardians, that is available in the following link: Volunteer Program.
Training Program
The program will be delivered to 40,000 volunteer applicants in 20 class hours, this includes in-person and virtual training sessions. Trainings began with volunteers living in Peru and they will be held in: Lima, Callao, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Cajamarca, Huancayo, Tacna, Arequipa, Cusco, Tarapoto, Ica, Cañete and Pisco; according to the schedule published in the Volunteer Program. website.
Activations for local entry
At the same time, the Lima 2019 Volunteer Program is conducting a number of promotional activities so that the population knows a little bit more about the important role of volunteers in Lima 2019 Games. Activations in Lima Norte will be at INTECI, Carrión, Colombia, IFB Certus; in Lima Sur, they will take place at the Autonomous University of Peru; in Trujillo, they will be held at César Vallejo University and in Pisco, at Telesup.
