Cróver knew that the crew taking the Lima 2019 Flame across Peru was going from Tingo Maria to Tarapoto. He knew that in Tocache, over 200 people were waiting for the caravan to stop and the Lima 2019 Pan American Flame to light up this emblematic town for a few minutes. So Cróver, well-know by his costumers as ¨ the dog¨, filled up the gas tank of his motorbike and waited on the highway on Shapaja town to follow the caravan, wearing the Peruvian football team jersey, a hat with stag horns and four Peruvian flags.
He traveled on his bike 23 km to the stop in Tocache. He could follow a brief and improvised celebration with the Pan American Flame. "At the Copa America final, I painted all my body in red and white and wore only boxers. Now, I've got to be part of my dear country celebration. I knew that I was going to make it" said the 58 years old man from Tingo María.
Surprisingly, Cróver did not stay in Tocache and followed the caravan for more 30 km before the buses taking Lima 2019 celebration across Peru stopped for lunch. In that moment, Cróver achieved his lifelong dream of touching one of the torches carrying the Pan American Flame. He was so nice that the crew invited him to have lunch with them. When he left, the biker wearing Guerrero's jersey said that sacrificing a day of work to follow the Flame was worth it, but he had to return home because his wife was probably worried.
