This morning, the Lima 2019 executive director, Carlos Neuhaus, presented the progress made by the Lima 2019 organization, and presented the current state of the construction or remodeling of the different venues, the details in the organization of the different functional areas and the milestones ahead, before the Panam Sports Executive Committee.
The meeting held in San Jose (Costa Rica) was attended by Carlos Neuhaus, the Secretary General Amalia Moreno and the Operations Manager Alberto Valenzuela. Neuhaus presented the progress of the organization, transportation plans, security, service to the National Olympic Committees and the different venues of the Pan American Games that will have its opening ceremony on July 26.
After viewing current images (photos and videos) of Lima 2019 construction works, the executives of the Americas were astonished when Neuhaus informed that the Pan American and Parapan American Village is ready and operating. Ten days ago, in collaboration with the Peruvian Army, volunteers and a group of athletes and Para athletes, we made a stress test and everything was working perfect,” he said.
The Village will host 6680 athletes of 41 countries of the Continent who will be part of the Games held until August 11.
“We are working hard, with a special care on details, in order to deliver the best Pan American Games to Panam Sports and to all young people from across the Continent. There is no question about it,” said Neuhaus during his presentation.
The meeting is chaired by Panam Sports President Neven Ilic, the vice presidents Carlos Padilla (MEX), Mario Moccia (ARG) and Keith Joseph (VIN), and the Secretary General Ivar Sisniega (MEX).
