The Lima 2019 Organization started the registration process for media and journalists that will cover the Pan American Games competitions, six months before the opening of the largest multi-sports event ever held in Peru.
Around 1500 journalists are expected to participate at the Pan American Games, while 300 journalists will attend the Parapan American Games. However, the registration for this event will be available from March 25, 2019.
The submission of the accreditation requests from the journalists and local media must be done through the Peruvian Olympic Committee (Download the registration manual) and the deadline will be April 30.
The requests from the other countries in the continent should be submitted through their corresponding National Olympic Committees up to May 10. For news agencies and countries not included in the 41 nations of the Pan American and Parapan American program, the accreditation request will be made directly through Lima 2019.
The accreditation requests are open for written press, photographers and radio and TV journalists who did not pay for broadcasting rights.
Journalists at the Games will have high-quality facilities and free Internet service. There will be 1GB for the Main Press Center (MPC) and 10MB shared with other venues.
Journalists will also have free transportation from the Main Press Center to all the competitions venues, every 45 minutes, approximately.
The media not paying for broadcasting rights will be able to record athletes’ interviews in the respective zones and in the MPC press conference rooms, Pan American and Parapan American Village and the football venue at the National Stadium.
Moreover, Media that didn't pay for broadcasting rights will have access to stands with tables and seats to watch the competitions without any issues. On the other hand, photographers will remain in assigned locations around the field of play to take the best pictures of the international competition.
