The Pan American Torch evoked thousands of emotions and smiles on its twelfth consecutive day in its historic journey across the country.
The Pan American Torch continues with its route and, until now, there are 12 cities that the flame has already visited: Cusco, Juliaca, Puno, Moquegua, Arequipa, Nazca, Ica, Ayacucho, Huancayo, Cerro de Pasco, Huánuco and Tingo María. Each city has given its best and we have experienced heartwarming and unforgettable moments. Among them are celebrations on the streets and avenues that gathered all the citizens, typical dances, performances and exhibitions of regional art.
The imposing Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in Cusco, the Colca Canyon in Arequipa, the Bella Durmiente in in Tingo María and the Nazca Lines have been some of the tourist emblem destinations that the Torch has had the privilege to visit for such an important competition.
Furthermore, we cannot forget to mention the torchbearers. Over a hundred torchbearers have carried the Pan American Flame that lights us all, which was initially ignited in the city of Teotihuacan, Mexico, and whose final destination is the city of Lima on July 26. With its arrival, the 18th edition of the Pan American and Parapan American Games 2019 will officially begin.
Although, the Pan American Flame tour has already reached 12 cities, there are still more to visit in the upcoming days; Tarapoto, Piura, Trujillo, Chiclayo and Huaraz are among these. The happiness and emotions are guaranteed and it is only a matter of time before the Pan American Torch continues to spread its burning heat to the Peruvians, who are proud to be part of this historic sports event.
