The “Soy Lima 2019” campaign continues to promote the sports values of the Pan American and Parapan American Games among the students of various public schools in districts that are Lima 2019 venues.
The students of the Miguel Grau Seminario School, located in the district of San Luis, enjoyed the socio-cultural show, part of this campaign that allows learning about the Olympic and Paralympic values through sports.
The show highlighted the Pan American Games values such as respect, excellence and friendship; and the Parapan American Games values which include equality, determination, inspiration and courage.
“I think it’s very important that Lima 2019 visits schools to encourage and motivate children through these experiences, so that they learn about the Games,” said Nelly Barzola, principal of the school visited.
“As our district hosts the Games, children are extremely motivated by this event, because it’s happening during a very important stage in their lives and it will be unforgettable. They’ll be able to see the delegations and athletes from the Americas,” she said.
She also added that sport is key for human being development and mentioned that the school she leads is a pioneer in the inclusion of people with impairments.
It should be noted that more than 18,000 students from schools located in San Luis, San Borja, Villa Maria del Triunfo and Villa El Salvador will have the opportunity to be part of the campaign.
"Soy Lima 2019" seeks to share a life experience among students, so that they understand the sacrifices made by athletes. Through these values and the support they receive from their families, they will be able to achieve their goals and dreams.
Finally, the students spent 10 minutes doing physical activity in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education, which establishes the practice of sports during the school day as a habit for a healthy life.
