OVERVIEW

Its main characteristic is the shuttlecock. Players score points by striking the shuttlecock over the net with their rackets and into the opponents’ half of the court. Undoubtedly, this is a fast, explosive and intense sport played with two players (singles) or two pairs (doubles).

HISTORY

Badminton can be traced back to mid-eighteenth century India, where it was invented by British military officers and known as “poona.” Badminton then became popularized in England.
