Judo’s guiding principle is to use your opponent’s strength against themself. It is a demanding sport where contests only last five minutes. Holds, throws and movements are executed on the tatami in order to score the highest number of points.
HISTORY
Deriving from jujitsu, judo has its origin in Japan in 1882 and evolved from the art of combat by emphasizing the balance, reflexes, power, flexibility and coordination of the judokas.
