OVERVIEW

Dressage:

  • This is a horse’s highest expression of elegance and skill. Horses and riders take to a 60 -by-20-meter arena where a panel of judges scores the work of the horse and rider as they perform mandatory movements.
Jumping:
  • This discipline consists of a synchronized performance based on the ability of the horse and rider to jump a series of fences.
 Eventing:
  • This discipline combines jumping, dressage and cross country and it is also known as the equestrian triathlon.

HISTORY

Equestrian sports were created 2000 years ago, when the Greeks introduced dressage training to prepare their horses for war. Throughout the years, equestrian sports grew more and developed during Middle Age.
